Charities Supported by Holy Cross

Crediton Parochial Church Council donates 5% of its income to charitable causes. The sum given during a full year will amount to approximately £5,000. Eighty per cent of the amount allocated to charities is divided between four main ones, each of which receives twenty per cent of the total. The remaining twenty per cent is kept in reserve in order that the church can respond to major disaster appeals quickly.

The main charities supported are:

Church Missionary Society
CMS is committed to evangelistic mission, working to see our world transformed by the love of Jesus. We have a direct link with a CMS missionary, Aaron Stanbury, who works in Kenya.

Connect
An inter-denominational charity supporting Christian youth workers in Mid-Devon Schools.

Christian Aid
Christian Aid is a global movement of people, churches and local organisations. It seeks to eradicate extreme poverty by tackling its root causes and create lasting change. In addition to our regular donation, together with other churches in the town, we support Christian Aid during Christian Aid Week and at other times of the year.

We also currently support...

Crediton Foodbank

Crediton Foodbank is a registered charity providing emergency food for local people in crisis in Crediton and the surrounding villages. Run by a part-time coordinator and a team of volunteers, it operates from the Manse, next door to the Congregational Church in Crediton. It also offers people support such as financial advice, referring and signposting to other organisations, including counselling, and works closely with all agencies in the area including schools.  Crediton Foodbank | Supporting people in financial hardship
