Pastoral Carers

Pastoral Care Group members undertake visits to members of the church who have an identified need.
Many of those visited are elderly, sick or unable to regularly attend services. Six of the current group of visitors have been licensed by the Bishop of Crediton and specially trained to administer Home Communion. Frequent requests are made for such visits.

All visitors are carefully selected and trained and have undergone a successful ‘DBS’ (criminal record office) check.

The visitors are commissioned during a main service at Holy Cross on a bi-annual basis.

Regular meetings concerning visits are held with the Rector where relevant issues can be discussed in total confidence.
